Obituary of Hazel Mae Campbell

CAMPBELL - Hazel of Fort Erie and formerly of Poplar, passed away peacefully on Sunday October 5, 2014, in her 87th year. Lovingly remembered by her daughter Peggy (Dave) Crawford of Port Colborne, sons Sandy of Fort Erie and John of Port Colborne. Sadly missed by grandsons Kevin (Jillian) Crawford and Trevor Crawford both of Port Colborne as well as great grandchildren Bronwyn and Drake. Hazel will also be missed by her sister Jean Bond of Wainwright, Alberta, brothers Harry Head of Gore Bay and Bill Head (Corleen) ofAlymer, along with many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband John Maynard Campbell (1974), sister Alice, brothers Raymond and Tom, her parents Bill and Elizabeth (Middaugh) and her daughter in law Ellen. Hazel was the switchboard operator at Poplar for many years until it was bought out by Bell Canada. She loved to garden and raise vegetables and flowers that were beautiful. Hazel was also an avid knitter and there are many family and friends with warm hands and feet, thanks to all the mitts and socks she made for us. She will be sadly missed. The Funeral service for Hazel will be held on Tuesday October 7, 2014 at 1 p.m. at the CULGIN FUNERAL HOME. Donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, or knit a pair of mittens or socks and donate to the Diabetes Association as expressions of sympathy in memory of Hazel. Arrangements entrusted to the Culgin Funeral Home, Gore Bay.
