I grew up across the street from Charlie and the rest of the family. So sorry to hear of the loss of the two of your family, who were so young.

SO sorry to hear of Charlie's passing. My condolencses to all the family. Spent quite a bit of time in the family household in the early sixties with Barb and got to know the "boys" quite well. They were "boys" being boys! Grew quite fond of them even though they were a big pain most of the time. Seen Charlie every visit home just about and it was always a pleasure! The world lost a good man! My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this difficult time.

When we think of Charlie, we remember our good old days. Charlie had a distinct walk, and a wonderful sense of humour, and a soft spoken hello to one and all. We think of Pirate when we remember Charlie. Always together.

I am so saddened to hear of the passing of Charlie, I feel as though I have lost a member of my family. When my father died Charlie was there, and we were there for him when Bill passed. He and Paul spent so much time at our place and Charlie and my brother Ted were inseparable for much of their young lives. I would not wish him back to suffer, but will remember that long legged, lanky, funny, smart man with a heart so big it could engulf you in it's warmth. He loved his family, his friends and his dogs. He is gone far too soon, but will not be forgotten by those who knew him. My condolences to his sisters and their families.

I send my heartfelt blessings to all the Wilson family. I wish I could give a hug to you Kelly. Charlie had a unique and fun filled life. We all have that one special story about him that we tell to our friends because it made us laugh. Even all these years later I still have a giggle about some of the things he said or did. He will be missed.

We were sorry to hear of Charlie's passing. He was such a good soul underneath that tough exterior. Back when we were all teenagers he always kept an eye out for us younger kids making sure we weren't being too stupid. Always the big brother. We will always remember him fondly and regard him as a wonderful, caring person. Our heartfelt condolences to Beth, Kelly and all the family.

Just thinking about the time when there was the big storm that downed a lot of trees and Lewis was removing one huge tree hanging right over the shed at the Bach camp at Tobacco Lake. Lewis got the tree cut down to the point that just one section was hanging by a rope but we had no way to get it down...Charlie said he'd shoot the knot in the rope and the branch could fall, while we pulled on the rope to keep it from landing on the shed...He went and got his shotgun, and shot the rope twice. He was sure he'd hit it the first time, but it didnt fall. IT came down after the second shot and when we looked at the rope, sure enough he had hit it both times, but the buckshot didnt go all the way thru the thick rope the first time. What a good shot! I have a VHS video of this event, that I will treasure!
The first time I ever shot a gun, it was Charlie who let me try, up on the east bluff. He was such a good, loyal and protective friend! Even though he was 8 years older than me, age never mattered, Charlie was a friend to all ages and like a brother to us all. We'll sure miss him! Stefanie King (Bach) and Lewis Hartley

Lee Anne Wiseman (and Ejay) made a donation to GORE BAY MANITOULIN LODGE AUXILIARY INC.
We didn't know Charlie long (most certainly to our detriment)- only as my dad's roommate the past three months. My impression of him was always that he was a kind man. I think Ejay could sense that too. He would always wave or say 'Hi little guy.' even when he wasn't feeling great. We will miss him. We already do. Thinking of you all with heartfelt sympathy.
