I am sorry to hear of Helen's passing. She was in the same room as my Mom, Audrey Newlands and she was a wonderfully kind and gentle person...so helpful to Mom. She will truly be missed.

Over the years, the "Iliff & Kathryn Johnsons" have enjoyed many special times with Aunt Helen and Uncle Stan. My earliest memories are of dinners together at the camp: Uncle Stan's catch-of-the-day fresh pan-fried perch with boiled potatoes and cream corn; walks after dinner to look for deer; campfires by the lake. I remember one occasion when Bobby, Danielle and Laura were gathered down by the lake and Laura referred to her suitcase as her "soup case". Funny, the things one remembers! Visits at their house in town would include a tour of the garden. I remember how lovely it was, especially enjoying the Black-eyed Susans. The creek at the back was always a special draw while enjoying stories of Pat keeping a horse back there in years gone by. Aunt Helen enjoyed the times when Uncle Stan would show his carvings, drawings and his golf ball retriever to our boys. In later years when I would visit Aunt Helen, we would reminisce while she enjoyed triple berry frozen yogurt from the local health food store. Visits at the Lodge would usually include walks along the corridors and time together in the sunny front room. Aunt Helen would wave at the door as I drove off until our next visit. We will cherish our memories and take comfort in knowing she is reunited with her loved ones.
