Obituary of Zelda Jean Sanders

SANDERS - Zelda Jean, of Gore Bay, passed away suddenly at Mindemoya Hospital on Friday June 1, 2018 in her 79th year. Beloved mother of Bob, Jean Pearson, Paula (George) Hayden and Susan Sanders. Also survived by brothers Roy (Mary Anne) Robertson, Russ (Diane) Robertson, Les (Ellen) Robertson, sister Cathy Robertson (Gary Bagu), brothers in law Bill Hayden, Wayne (Julia) Sanders and sister in law Pat Sanders. Cherished grandmother of Jordan, Jess, Kayla and Kyler and great grandmother of Mason, Hayden, Aliya, Olton and Bailey. Zelda will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her husband Paul, parents John and Elizabeth (Pickard) Robertson, brother Bobby, sisters Eva Hayden, Lyla Robertson and son in law Mike Pearson. Zelda was born in Ice Lake and was raised on the family farm where she lived until she married Paul Sanders. She worked at the Bank of Montreal until she started to raise her 4 children. She returned to work after her youngest started school working several years at Manitoulin Lodge. She then worked at Manitoulin Transport till she retired. Many of the staff there enjoyed the times she would bake her famous butter tarts and take and share with the entire staff. She enjoyed family time where should could enjoy time with the great grandchildren. Any family function she was sure to be there often tolerating loud music, lots of chaos and at times some pretty crazy behavior. A celebration of life will be held at the Simpson Funeral Home on Thursday June 7, 2018 at 11 am.
