Obituary of Audrey Elaine Merrylees

MERRYLEES, Audrey Elaine (nee Lewis) - In loving memory of Audrey Elaine Merrylees (nee Lewis) 84 years. Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 17th, 2017 at Pioneer Manor in Sudbury. Beloved wife of Delbert Merrylees for 64 years. Loving mother of Debbie Laking (Chris), Janice Harju (Michael), Sharon Domik (Darren) and Gail Hunter (Gary). Cherished and much loved Grandma of Jennifer (Scott), Alyson (Matthew), Christa (Greig), Bill (Monique), David (partner Ashley), Laurie (partner James), Cody, Dylan and Justin and Great Grandma "GG" of Aiden, Owen, Ashton, Evan, Nathan, Connor, Kellan, William and Chloe. Predeceased by her parents Leonard and Elsie Lewis (nee Middleton) and siblings: Mildred (Leonard also predeceased), Patricia and Doug. Survived by her sisters: Leah (Jim predeceased) & Shirley, brothers: Ken (Marlene), Gordon (Darlene predeceased), Garry (Shirley), Irwin (Mary) and Merlin (Christine), brothers-in-law Joe, Darwin (Sandie) and sisters-in-law Mary-Alice, Audrene, Carolyn (Ernie predeceased), Barbara (Gary predeceased) and Curtis (predeceased). She will be missed by her many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Audrey was a gentle soul. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was also a wonderful baker, famous for her butter tarts, pies and cookies. She enjoyed spending time at the family camp on Lake Kagawong and the many happy gatherings there. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at Grimesthorpe Cemetery, Spring Bay on Saturday October 21, 2017 at 1 pm.
