It is with great sadness to have read the news of Gerry's passing. Many memories flooded in...particularly Gerry's willingness to hire this 20 year-old newbie to TV as an on-air host at CHRO. He worked with me to help me improve on a regular basis. Gerry had assembled a fun team at CHRO and we all worked well together. I look back at those years as some of the best...and Gerry played a huge role in that.
Sincere condolences to the family...Gerry's smile and laugh will be missed.

I was saddened to read of Gerry's passing. We were very lucky to grow up in a close knit family. Many happy times were spent visiting together creating great memories, especially at the farm and cottage. Over the past few years Gerry and I reconnected by phone. We enjoyed reminiscing and sharing our news about our kids and grandchildren. He will be missed. Sincere condolences to his family and friends.

I was sad to hear of Gerry's death. Our family lived across the street from Aunt Clare when Gerry was born and we spent so much time together growing up both in Valleyfield ,at the farm and at the cottage in Ste. Barbe. He was the cutest little guy as a toddler and really as long as we knew him. Sadly we all grew up and went our separate ways. My sister Suzanne kept in touch from time to time and we called him a few years ago when the four cousins were together at Suzanne's cottage.Margaret and Jean, being the other two!
We had planned to go up to see him but he preferred we FaceTime ,which we did and it was good to see him again.
I send my sympathy to all his family and will always remember him,
Joan

We arrived in Canada in the mid 1970"s and were fortunate to buy a house on the same street as Gerry in Beachburg. We became good friends and had meals together on a weekly basis and visited each others houses regularly . Gerry was a great guy, level headed and calm. He was very articulate and never seemed to lose his temper. We had some good times together , especially on May 4th , both our birthdays , where we tended to indulge ourselves a little too much. I regret not keeping in touch with Gerry after we moved to BC . He was a good man and will be missed . My condolances to both his families .

Gerry, my friend, was a remarkable man; a gentle, kind man. He appreciated every small gesture of kindness and everything that was done for him, when he could no longer do things for himself. He was esteemed and respected by the people who cared for him as he worked his way through his illness. Gerry was respected by his peers in his professional life in broadcasting. Many of his former colleagues praised him for his professionalism and for his help in their fledgeling careers. Well done my friend. Your passing has left a void for many of us and you are already greatly missed. My deepest sympathy to those in your family who loved you and who will miss you. Earth's loss is heaven's gain.
